Looking for somewhere nice in Himalayas
Hello, I've got another month and a half in India and I would love to spend it in some quite spot up in the himalayas. I have not been to northern India yet. All I am looking for is some quite place with simple accomodation and preferrably good views. I just want to chill out there for a while.
Any suggestions would be super. Thanks!! |

Go to Kalpa, near Rekongpeo in Himachal. You will get what you are looking for. In acse you are into certain wild ways go and stay in Malana or Manali village.Even sangla would be a nice option for a quiet stay by the banks of the river.

Go to Western Sikkim, a village called Rinchenpong, it is heaven. Views of Kanchenjunga. If you are tired of doing nothing you can go trekking.

Pappersaili and Kasardevi by Almora is nice and quite with good views. It also has a small travelers scene with people that stay for years.
Here's a link to some hotels there: http://almoraonline.com/hhotels.htm |

YEs Uttrakand is the best place to chill out. Try talking to KMVN guys they have the best accomodation and really nice and quite place. Only bad thing is you cant stay with them for more than 7 days in one go. Anyway Chaukori , Munsiyari is good. But there is a place just above Almora and below Binsar Cant remeber the name right now starts with "D" its also a nice palce you can come down to Almora for city life and go upto Binsar for Wildlife.

so everyone ...
I'm planning my first trip to India & I'm looking for a plan. I'd probably be going next year about this time (I enjoy taking my time planning a trip), and have done a bit of traveling, but this will be a first for me. Sounds like Kasardevi is an option, or Pappersaili. Any further tips or information would be appreciated. I'm traveling with my boyfriend, and we'll have a month to spend. Thanks ...
