looking for cheap laid back spot. Help?!
looking for cheap laid back spot. Help?!
Hi fellows!
So finally it happens - next week I'll be in India for the 3rd time, after 5 years from the last time!
As I need some quiet and relaxtion, I'm looking after my first spot (after Delhi, ofcz) where I could stay for long time (means - good atmosphere, not many tourist, good weather and cheap). First I thought about Rishikesh (which I visited few times before), but then fely it would be crowdy.
I read here about Lansdowne and immidiatly fall in love - I felt like it was the place I'm looking for. But then I started to wonder if it's realy a laid-back place and if I can find there a place for long stay (actually, didn't find lot of info in the web about this place).
So after reading Tones of threads here - can anyone share his expirience or opinion about Lansdowne? any other suggestion for a cool place for next week?
10X!

Try Uttarkashi - Lansdowne is laid back even in peak season - dn't know about long term stay options though.

I suspect that you are Indian yourself and residing in India. Are you really about to to arrive for the third time in India?

Lansdowne doesn't have too many guest houses and hotels - the one that are there have already been mentioned on the thread. You could try and see if you can find any rented accommodation. It is mainly a cantonment town and it may be difficult for you to find any.

I've only ever heard "crowdy" from Indians. I guess I should have put this on the Indian English thread instead of guessing about you pointlessly. Similar Threads
