There are two probable places in Mumbai ,
you can enquire , where they teach Bengali.

1. In Dadar , Bengali club , near Ravindra
Natya Manch. Shivaji Park.
2. Ramakrishna Mission Ashram at Khar.

Cheers

Got any tutor or bengali book over there in Mumbai? if not, find anybody visiting Kolkata in recent times and tell him/her to bring "BARNA PARICHAY" book (the starter) written by Iswarchandra Bidyasagar (book name may be translated in english such as -- introduction to letters, barna in bengali means letter/alphabet). It has two part one and two. Go for it and learn successfully. The book shops in Kolkata is in College Street.
Hope to get chatting bengali from next time very soon.

Best is to learn it at your own by reading on the internet, speaking to bangla friends oftenly and most importantly, watch a Bangla TV channel.

I'm a punjabi and I know bangla pretty well. My motivation to learn the language being my bong love interest.

Now, Aami bangla iktu iktu jaani.

Thanks for chatting in bengali, my mother tongue. But Paaji, there's a minor mistake, I hope you won't mind if I rectify your saying a little bit to improve your bengali language treasure.

The word will be "Aami bangla ektu ektu jaani".

ektu ektu means thora thora means very little.

Carry on, Let's go.

I can recommend: "Teach Yourself Bengali", the book plus audio method, by William Radice; "Colloquial Bengali", the book & audio, by Mithun B. Nasrin and W.A.M. van der Wurff; "Talk Now - Learn Bengali" interactive CD-ROM; and, of course, watching films in Bengali language and listening to music in Bengali, plus chatting to India Mikers. Have fun!

accha! kOro! (= OK! Just do it!)
