Kupvi

I dont know how many of you ahve been to Kupvi but I think its one of the best remote places in Himachal today. It is near to the Uttrakhand Border with Himachal and lies in District Shimla. It takes about 7 hours from Shimla but is best approached either through Nahan-Renuka-Haripurdhar route or the Solan-Rajgarh-Nohradhar-Haripurdhar route. If you are coming from Dehradun the ebst route would be to either come vis Paonta Sahib-Renuka or through Dakpathar-Minhas-SainjKhud-Taranh. The average elevation is about 7000 feet and the village forms a beautiful horseshoe valley and lies ont he right side of the curve. It is alos one of the ascending points for the Churdhar Ranges and to cross over to the village of Saranh which has a 500year old temple of "Bijat Dev".
The roads are bad from Haripurdhar (about 10 kms, 30mins) and Sainj Khud(29 kms 1hr) onwards especially during rains.
Need any more info please do let me know.

Nice photos! I've never seen a temple like that in India. Very unique! Must try to get up that way sometime. Thanks.
