A couple of months ago I was near the Everest Base Camp but from the Tibetian side and not from the Nepali side. It was from Tingri where you get a good view of the mountains if you have clear weather and then Everest almost looms right in front of you!!! It was a really wonderful experience even if it was not exactly at the EBC but quite far away from there but still up close to the highest mountain peak in the world.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Hema,

Thanks .... your pictures are really fantastic . Yes, Gokyo lakes look awsome . But I am surprised there is so much snow on the trail, at Pheriche, Lobuche etc. pics with embedded date 26-10-2003 .. isn't snow unusual at that time??.. But I also saw date in title as 23-4-2004 (is that actual trek date? .. when there could be still some snow lying around??). I was'nt expecting any snow/ice on trails, when I go sep-oct 07, except perhaps at Gokyo and EBC. Please clarify... KS
