hey ,
I had visited Poompuhar. It doesnt have anything great to be seen now .. but it has a pride of place in the local Tamils history. This city has an history of 2000 years.. would you believe it ?? It had been a port for a very long time and the major part of the city was engulfed in a Tsunami previously. Not the Tsunami of 2005 .. |

Do they still have those clam shell guest houses? I was there in 95 and like gopalk said, it was uncrowded and the beaches were nice. A local came by and made us some coconut fish. It was a nice few days.
