Question Cost of travelling - India v Sri Lanka

Is it as cheap in Sri Lanka as it is in India for accommodation, transport, food etc?

No, I found it to be about 20-30% more expensive in Sri Lanka than India.

However, Bangaldesh is a lot cheaper !

OK - so the exchange rate is different, but have you made a cost-of-living comparison, especially as it applies to travellers and backpackers ?

Are you saying that the 'cost for a traveller' is cheaper in Nepal than Bangaldesh ???

All the times I've been in Nepal, I've always been in money-no-object-as-long-as-I-can-get-pizza-and-german-strudel mode, as a change to months of travel in India, and their slightly monotonous railway-station 'meals'
