Beautiful Escape from Delhi.... Bagthan

On my verge to find beautiful isolated spots closest the Delhi my search took me over to the foothills of Himachal pradesh..getting me closer to nature in true sense.

Bagthan is about 300kms away from Delhi.
One heading towards Chandigargh can take a diversion from Pipli > towards Panchkula, and then take another diversion from Narayangarh towards Nahan and from Do Sarka take a diversion for Solan.

On the road towards Solan, take the diversion for Bagthan or Baru Sahib.
People there is nothing available on this road for about 22kms before you reach Bagthan. It is a perfect isolated spot with just nature around and plenty of fresh air amongst the foothills.

Bagthan : has a small HPTDC guest house + BAR.
It is not much of hoopla haapla around this place... all quiet.

The road too has all wonderful nature view untouched by humans, as this is not a regular road. I travelled across for almost 4 hours coming across just 3 scooters\ 1 jeep\ 2 buses. to reach end of the strech at Rajgarh.

This is one place people can try to have a good secluded, peaceful time.

ANy more inputs are welcome..
I would add more maps and pics.

Complete pics available : http://photos.yahoo.com/livin_like_bird.
Check out Lakhoti Album.

Enjoy !!

Sounds great, Birdie! The pictures will have to wait till I get to a place with a decent connection, though. I'm up in Uttaranchal now and the fall weather would be perfect for riding (if I had a bike ) Even the mountains pretty clear today from the Kesar Devi ridge near Almora!!

Thanks for kind offer, Birdie! I'm not really set up for touring this year, but I think there are bikes for hire around Almora for local sightseeing. A friend rented a scooter yesterday and said it got quite cold when in the shade out of the sunshine (I think he is still shivering )

There's always *next year*
