beach for seven days on west coast

First of all it is my first time here and I am not to familiar with this website. I have been watching indiamike for several weeks and I have to admit that it is very easy to finde here a lot of interesting tips. At the moment I have the only one: I am going to spend three weeks in south India and the last week I want to relax on the solitery beach. One year ago I rested in Arambol/Goa and it was perfect for me. I want to find something like that in Kerala or Karnataka. Could you help me??? thank you in advance

thank you very much Goancanuck -- maybe you know something near to Kochi ??? if not I finde your proposal as the next confirmation that north of Karnataka is something for me

Varkala is around three hours by train from Ernakulem (nearest railhead to cochin) probably fits what your looking for!!
You could also take a look at Cherrai Beach on Vypeen island, very quiet beach with only a few places to stay and only 45 minutes away by ferry and bus!!
