Talking Ancient Indians invented "Rock" Music

A Neolithic stone age site has been brought to light in Kupgal, South India, where the stones can be "rung" to sound various notes of music. Rock Cave drawings on the rocks make archaeologists believe that the site was used for ritual ceremonies by young males to "tap" into the power of the site

The site was forgotten after its discovery in 1892. Rediscovered recently, the BBC ran a story on this archaeological site.

Details are available on :

Anyone care to "Rock"?

There are columns in temples all over India that have been "tuned" for these effects as well.

at Hampi

I won't describe the many other temples I saw that day, though a special mention must be made of the extraordinary Vitthala temple and its musical columns.
Carved out of single blocks of granite, the fluted columns each resonate in a different sound when hit, for some unearthly rock music!
