"Parab" tribal festival date revision

The revised date for the tribal festival held in Koraput has just been published and now will be held on the 16th, 17th and 18th November 2011, when it was traditionally held as against the 2010 Parab held in Jan 2011.
This is possibly due to local govt elections scheduled for Jan/Feb 2011 and the difficulties faced in interpreting and fullfilling the electoral commissions guidelines and holding govt sponsered events such as Parab.

Or any number of other reasons.

Thanks for the update. At least for me it is bad news as the revised November dates are immediately after the Diwali break so taking another break is next to impossible.

Thanks for the info. I've got it by mail few hours ago from Niranjan. Unfortunately my flights to India are already booked for 10th Jan. and I'll miss next Parab, may be another year if they don't change the dates...

Nevertheless I'll be in Koraput district as preview and hope to meet you there.

Last year they changed it to Jan this year so who knows.
Next year??
It's a pity when you book your trip to coincide with it though. An excuse to come back again Jorge, not that I think you need much of an excuse to return.
