Nagaland (Kohima and Khonoma) in mid-August

I'm planning a trip to Kohima and Khonoma for around a week between August 12-19. I am not sure yet how I will divide my time between the two places, though I will definitely try to spend a day trekking Dzukou Valley and some time in Kohima visiting the Bara Basti, Naga Bazaar and the War Cemetery. Khonoma will mostly be for chilling and enjoying the sights and sounds of the place.

If you're interested in traveling with me, or have suggestions of what I should/shouldn't do there, I would appreciate your comments!

Oh also, if you have any suggestions/tips for the trek to Dzukou Valley, I would appreciate it. I have been asking around, and one agent quoted me Rs5000 for the first day, and he tried to persuade me to overnight in the valley for additional Rs1000 for the tent and Rs 1500 for the second day.

I am fine with spending some money for a nice trip to Dzukou, but at the same time, I don't have a lot of money to burn, so I am looking to minimize my costs.

planning a trip with family to nagaland for 10 days in dec 2011 jan 2012.

will some one pl suggest a tour itinerary with tips about hotels, travel agents and transport.
