Where to stay for a very early check-in, near station?

Hi,

We will be arriving in Mumbai about 6.00am, with two children. Any suggestions of somewhere to stay, not too expensive, fairly near the station, but mainly one where we can check in early.
I don't really want to be hanging around with the children for a few hours after a night on a train.

Maybe it would be a good idea to book for two nights, then we can go straight to our rooms when we arrive. But that rather misses the point of travelling overnight!

Any ideas? Thanks for all comments.

Where are you coming from and going to, and at what time?

We will be coming from Goa (Madgaon), and arrive at 05.50.

We fly home to UK the following afternoon, so plan to have the day in Mumbai.

Just wondering where to go first (with tired kids) at 6.00am!!

Railway retiring rooms ?

Can you add some more data, like which station ? I, and more so, lots of other India railway aficionados, wayyyy more knowledgeable than me, can say more then.

I'm suggesting this because I know they exist - these are rooms run by the Indian railway authorities, right on the platform at many major railway stations ( I saw them at Hospet railway station) - I want to find out whether it really works, how it works and so on ( calling Steve_ber )
