Where to buy Reclining Chair in Powai?
Hi there.
I have recently relocated to Mumbai since Jan. I had been desparately looking to buy a "Reclining Chair" (Easy Chair) somewhere in Hiranandani Powai, Chandivali or even Sakinaka without success. Can someone throw some light as to which furniture mart houses such a comfy chair? In fact I had even had a stroll around the shabby "Sakinaka Pipeline Market" to browse the furniture shops to find one in vain. The dumb fact was that most of the shopkeepers didn't even know what I was talking about. In an attempt to explain to a shop owner, I had to virtually recline myself on the road (as if sitting in a reclining chair). Once I was done, a bunch of curious people gathered eagerly around me, believing that I am a magician performing some street magic. God. I am tired. Can someone enlighten me as to where I can find such a piece of furniture? (If not, I can bring it from my hometown Chennai, where streetside vendors sell it for peanuts 100-200 rupees). |

The Lazy Boy store in Worli has reclining chairs, and a lot to choose from, but expensive.

Try Better Homes just opposite Andheri East Railway Station although I doubt that you will get it for Rs100-200!!! The ones you are refering to are also available but you will have to look real hard to find some of them. Maybe these are available in Chor Bazaar in South Mumbai. You could even ask a carpenter to custom make one for you. I suppose you want a folding type to store away when not in use. You could also try the streetside furniture market on the road leading to Bandra (West) Railway Station. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Aadil.

Sorry--coming late to this thread but we've recently found a lot of availability at places like Home Centre, @Home, and Lifestyle. All of these were found @ R City Mall, Nirmal Lifestyles Mall, and R Mall---all of which are very close to Powai/Hiranandani. You can also find them at these stores at InOrbit in Malad but that can be a longer drive.
