I arrive in Mumbai on 4th of October. My hotel is booked so no
worries there. This is my first trip to India. So what is the best way not to get overwhelmed by it all?? |

First time visit
We would recommend to read as much as you can - but less guide books but "Culture Shock India", "Karma Cola" and surely some travel logs on the web. And be prepared to view people living at the streets and in slums!
After arrival use a prepaid taxi and get a receipt. In Mumbai the conducted tours are the best option for sightseeing; it is MTDC, Madam Cama Road, not far from Oberoi Hotels at Marine Drive. Have fun! |

the best way to adapt is to face up to it. dont be cowed down.. may be the touts can understand you are bothered or can be bothered and if you look confident you should not have too many worries
