Visiting Mumbai with 70 people
Hi there,
I am a student of a University in Holland were I’m studying event management. As part of this education I have to organize a study trip. Therefore we will be with a group of 60 students and 10 staff members in Mumbai for a couple of days. After a trip from Delhi to Agra to Jaipur we want to end our journey in Mumbai. As were we are from an event management university we want to end this trip with a special evening. If anybody have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. For example we are in search of a very exclusive party (maybe on the beach). Or visit an concert of an international known person. Other ideas are always welcome. Rules we have to oblige to; - We are not allowed to mix up with local people for our security - The student are expecting there is some kind of alcohol - The budget is maximum €60/$85p.p. Thank you very much. With kind regard Yours truly, Bastiaan Smeenk |

Any one of the 5star hotels will host an outdoor dinner+drinks event for 70 people, buffet style.
Now, if I were you - I'd do the following - Go to the airline KL and ask then for group discount for itn, and have them arrange for soup-2-nuts including throwing in a special event. Do the same with JetAirways (via BRU) or Finnair via HEL. |

Else, managing 70 people without mixing with locals would be a good event management exercise ![]() |

On our trip we will bring a local with us. This for the contacts and problems if they would appear. The rest of the trip is already arranged so this is no problem. |

We are allowed to mix with locals during the trip, but not when we are visiting a pub or club. Because people here get drunk and our school is not willing to take responsibility for mixing with drunken local people. Tank you

If thats what you want, then you will have to book yourself a private function somewhere. If you dont want to mix with drunken local people then Id stay away from bars/clubs completely!

really now cap'n saab!! give the guy a break, he means well - [at lease i hope so - for his sake...]
base: 70 people getting rip roaring drunk in one place is going to get you into BIG trouble anywhere in the world. its the end of the study tour - and you will be 'celebrating'. baaad idea. even if you have the event in a private 5star hotel - drunken behaviour will have its consequences. baad consequences. instead, break into smaller groups - explore the city - grab a couple of beers - go shopping. you can get together and cut a cake or something safer. secure. troublefree.who is this 'local' you are bringing along with you? [really really curious [ ]:brishti |

In the last few days, there have been gangs of Mumbai thugs running round beating up any people from north India.
Politics in Mumbai can be very confusing and dangerous. |

There are many halls and such organizing private parties as such. Five star places may be expensive [don't know how muc?] Otherwise there are many options... not my field of expertise, others can do it easily. Don't mind steven_ber's comments. These incidents happened in Dadar area only [not all over Mumbai]Your North Indian won't be beaten up ![]()
