Smile Visiting Mumbai Film City?

I will be in Mumbai for 2 or 3 days only in mid April.

Thing is,my daughter is very keen to visit Film City, and although I have tried many searches, the only info I came up with is that you need permission.Well,I don't know who from .

So any idea how I go about it?....has anyone been there?

Any advice/information will be gratefully received .

Failing that...any places where the stars hangout?

TIA....x

Changed the name of your thread.

One way to get better information from the site is to keep the thread headings specific.

The person with the information you need may not look at threads called eg Help or Hi

Visiting Film City
Film City is not open to the public, but you can request permission to visit the site. Contact: Film City, Goregaon (East), Bombay/Mumbai 400 065, Phone: +91 22 28401533.

(I have added one 2 to the phone number to make it current.. hope it works).

You could just hang out around colaba until you have an offer to be in a film and meet all the stars. I got tons of offers and finially i did it and it was fun, 800 rupees to sit on a fantastic air-con set all day in constume and meet the stars and dance and get a free lunch. They even take you there from colaba, the hot meeting spot for this is that really trendy two story restuarant in colaba, i forgot the name someone's going to have to help me on that.....
its the one with the bar upstairs...

Wow,that sounds like fun ,but we really only want to go and see the sets as tourists, just so my daughter can tell her friends she saw 'Bollywood',and masses of stars.

Thanx for suggesting it though.

I started to ring around the studios, but did not have much luck.

Filmistan does allow any visitors at all....and most of the others do not answer.

The only one I manged to contact was Film City, but the person who could help me was unavilable and I should call back later.I'll try again in a few hours.

HTH.

Tips to find Bollywood stars

Pray God that some superstar fall ill...

then you could wait outside the Lilavati and see all the superstars. Dont forget to pack the whole day long vada pav fare..

Still you want a bigger dekho...then hope for somebody to pop off...and join the mourning procession.

Want to see Sunjay Dutt... wait at the High court ( check with the lawyers for the dates )

For Salman Khan, wait on the carter Road or the Bandstand pavemnet, and he could give you a kiss ( oops..a miss ) with his car.

Ditto for John, he could miss with his bike..

Big B at the ITO office, or at the Samajwadi Party..

Govinda at the Virar station

Saif again at the carter Road between 6.00 ot 11.00 in the night with his bike, guitar and his new brand of tootpaste...he is hunting for somebody really fresh with Rosa having walked out on him.

If you are more luckier , you could spot nana driving his Taxi no 4 2 11 with a Saffron flag in the front and a MNS flag behind

You could catch Bips at the Marriot coffee shop...and dont get very close to her or also lech her for long...her friendly bouncers are not just within her, they are everywhere around....

Possibly also nagma, but be sure you are carrying wads of notes along, and check for some spycam...else you will find yourself on the net.
