Transferring from International to Domestic terminals in Mumbai

I am trying to book my flight onward from Mumbai to Thiruvanam...etc. and wondered how much time I should give myself to get through customs/transfer airports/check-in. And should I just take a shuttle or grab a cab? Thanks!

Customs in Mumbai take around an hour...Most domestic airlines have a check in counter at the International airport and they have shuttle to take you to the domestic terminal. I did it thro Jet airways last time and it was quite simple and hazzle free

the tranfer shuttle connects domestic and international terminala INTERNALLY-USING THE INTERNAL AIRPORT ROADS. It never goes into the normal(?) mumbai traffic. So the tranfer is rather fast about 20 mins and very comfortable.

good luck

Make sure you keep a gap of at least 3 hours between flights.

Thanks for this great website. I'm planning a similar trip....arriving Mumbai airport from Turkey and then thinking to use Jet Airways for flight to Trivandrum, this winter. Hope things are still running smoothly!

Question

I'm flying from Mumbai to Udaipur on JetAirways and my itinerary says BOM airport. This isn't a transfer; I'll be in Mumbai for several days before this flight. So, where exactly do I need to go to catch this flight? Is Santa Cruz domestic airport the same as the domestic terminal at BOM?? Or are these different?

If I do need to go to the main BOM airport, is there a different terminal for domestic Jet Airways flights vs. international ones?

Thanks!
