transfer mumbai national airport to international

i'm going to arrive on a jet airways flight into mumbai national and will have to go over to the international terminal for my lufthansa flight.

does anyone know, if i'll be able to use the jet airways transfer bus? and if no, what is the best and safest way to change terminals?

thanks!

You have the GVK bus that will take you (for free) from the domestic terminal to the international terminal and it runs every half hour or so. You have to show the onward journey ticket to board the bus.

Cheers,
Aadil.

International Airport Transfer Bus

Aadil is right. GVK is the company that has purchased the Mumbai Airport. I remember seeing a board for the transfers on the left when you face the luggage carousels in the domestic airport.

Hi all.

After seeing a couple of threads about transfers at Mumbai airport, I am wondering if I need to be worried.

The issue is, My partner and I arrive at Mumbai Airport terminal 2B early Monday morning 04.15 29th of December and then need to get to terminal 1B for the domestic flight to Goa that departs at 05.45.
We have hand luggage as we like to travel light so no bags to collect or check in, will it make a difference as it is so early?
The domestic flight is with GoAir is it then possible to get a boardingcard online?(Haven't seen the option)for that will definately make a difference, won't it?
Also what is the quickest way between terminals in the early hours?
I heard a few bucks in the passport can speed things up!

I hope someone out there has some pointers for me, I reserved a train ticket just in case 06.55,you never know!!!!!!!

Thanx,
Spencer

Not advisabe to place money in the passport, it may not work to your advantage. The time inbetween your two flights is too short even if everything works out on time. So just get another flight that leaves later in the day. There is a free bus service that leaves every half hour or so and as long as you have the onward journey ticket you can take this bus from inside the terminal (you don't have to exit from the main gate but go to the special gate for the inter terminal coach run by GVK). Ask any of the airport staff where to go to board the bus. The train timing sounds better than your flight connection. I would advise you to take the train if it leaves at 0655. More time for you to get to Dadar for taking the train. I hope it is not from LTT since it might be a bit of a problem to get there compared to the other options.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Cool Thanks Aadil!

Thanks for your advice.
Friends who have been to Mumbai say exactly the same thing...so yes, I will cancel and rebook for a new flight that will depart either 12.30 or 13.00, we will just have to kill the time some how.
As for Mumbai it self, might be a good idea to leave it for an other day considering the nightmare down in Colaba!
What are your thoughts on this??????

Cheers Spencer G.

Mumbai is back to normal and so is the Colaba area too. Cafe Leopold is back in business and the spirit of Mumbai seems to be rising from the ashes like a phoenix!!! Nothing can keep a city like Mumbai down for too long. Security is much better now in most of the places than it used to be earlier especially at airports, railway stations and major tourist spots.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Go for breakfast at Juhu beach. Better than sitting around at the airport waiting for your flight.

Cool Good idea Spike!!

So where on Juhu beach can I get a proper English breakfast(fry up)around 6 in the morning?
What is there to see apart from the sea ha,ha at Juhu?
At least it is very close so no worries about traffic, I will have to drop off our bag packs at the Domestic Terminal first and tack small change to Juhu.
How much could cover taxi to Domestic,Juhu, breakfast and back to Domestic?

Thanx Aadil and Spike it's good to get some good advise once in a while!

Don't know about the prices and styles of breakfasr you'll be able to get but there are many hotels that will serve you some sort of breakfast Maybe the IM Mumbaikers will give you some more info.
At six AM it will be quiet I think but enjoying a fresh seabreeze after a long flight should be good.

Most south indian restaurants will open by around 7:30 am but to find a proper english breakfast you will have to go to a good 4 or 5 star hotel restaurant. Or else try going down to South Mumbai for a good one at either the Tea Center (next to Churchgate station), Cafe Mondegar or Cafe Leopold (both near each other at Colaba Causeway) where you will get one for sure at a very cheap price too. You will get ham or bacon along with a choice of egg styles, a fresh fruit juice, toast, jam & butter and tea or coffee. These three are some of the best places in South Mumbai for a good and pretty cheap English breakfast. My favourite place is Cafe Mondegar closely followed by the Tea Center since their choices of tea is the best in town!!!

Cheers,
Aadil.
