And we need to buy tickets from Jet or similar airline to fly down to Visak, will the ticket offices be open at around 11.00 pm on a Saturday night? |

It is close, in Andheri East. (I presume that is Marol Maroshi Road). In fact, if you take a taxi at the airport he may grumble, - suggest use the hotel pickup if they have one.
You should be able to book some airlines at the International airport at that time. Jet has an office there, too, IIRC. |

Hi, I did not want to start another thread, and this one seems to have the right name anyway..
So my question is: I need to pick up my husband from the airport at 6 am on a Sunday. Will I be able to find a taxi on the streets of Mahim/Matunga (W) that will take me on 5.30 AM Sunday? Or would it be better to arrange a taxi a day before to pick me up from my house? If so: can I just ask any random taxi whallah hanging around this neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon, or would it be better to call a taxi company? In case of the last option: would anyone know the telephone numbers of such a company? I have seen it mentioned somewhere on the forum, but can't find it anymore. Thanks a lot. |

Get a Meru cab / cool cab to pick you up from your house. Streets can be deserted if they get a customer or it is their morning chai time or other reasons (ramadan)
As you need a taxi to the airport and back you would need to hire a cool cab.Meru cab would be ideas one way (Customer Service Center at 4422 4422). Call Ask me Information - 22616666,8888888,2656666, 24111111, can they will give you the cool cab operator closes to you . Call them up and find out how much they change to the airport and back from mahim/matunga You can also get operators from just dial search but i prefer ask me http://search.justdial.com/srch/search_cwa.php?srch=true&city= Mumbai A 24/7 Operator Assisted Search service on a single national number 6999 9999. there is also mega cabs http://www.megacabs.com/mumbai-radio-taxi.php +91-22-42424242

Thanks a lot!
I called Cool Cab on 022 24905151 (I think this is the all-Mumbai call centre or the Worli branch- I am not sure). They will drop me at the Int. Aiport but they are not allowed to wait there, so I will have to take a new taxi back. No problem.. I can just take a pre-paid from there. My main concern was getting to the airport on early morning Sunday. The operator told me it will cost 350 Rs (from Mahim to Int. Airport). Thanks for all the other telephone numbers as well: I am sure they will be useful also for me sometime in the future! |

Marol is pretty close to the airport , so it' best you take a prepaid cab as otherwise cabbys will be unwilling to come due to the short distance. For your flight to Vizag it would be best to book it online, cause I don't think that Jet has a booth at the international airport in the first place.

One more question regarding taxis at Mumbai Int. Airport. Can you arrange a pre-paid taxi if you are on the outside of the terminal building (waiting to pick someone up?), or do you have to be inside to arrange a pre-paid taxi, or is there a booth with two windows, one on the outside of the terminalbuilding and one on the inside?
I know from the Domestic Airport that you first have to walk outside the terminal so anyone, those arriving on flights, and those who remain outside can get a pre-paid taxi. How does it work at International Airport? I have been there so many times... but I simply can't remember |

This is what i do. I hire a taxi to and from my house and then tell them to park in the parking lot near the airport. When i need them to come to pick us at the entrance i call the driver on his mobile phone or just walk to the taxi stand .
The booth is outside the airport .Do let us know about your experience ![]() |
