The Weather in Mumbai

After many years, Mumbai has experienced a prolonged winter this year. The so called winter in Mumbai started in early January and has been continuing so far without a break. For past few days, the temperatures have been ranging from maximum of around 27C to the minimum of around 12C. Yesterday, both maximum and minimum temperatures have dipped to 22C and 8.5C respectively. What is surprising is that the minimum temp. of 8.5C on Friday in Mumbai was lower than 9C in Delhi.

Climate change is well and truly here.

Not just Mumbai, typical signs everywhere in the world.

Colder winters, warmer summers.
Alternate droughts and floods.
More severe tropical revolving storms
Higher frequency of same storms.
Unseasonal weather.

In India, easily noticeable in the last two years.

Ze writing is on ze wall.

Brrrrrr .... I think its maybe around 6-7*C, in the Yewoor Hills at Thane in the morning (around 6:30AM ... when we go up there for our daily morning walk-trek).

Its warm again now, although the nights are still very pleasant and we do not need the fan yet. I think most of us Bombaywallas enjoyed the "winter" while it lasted. Lets get ready to face the summer soon.
