hi all,

The CS/IM mumbai outing is fixed at GANPATIPULE from 29th sept friday(night) to 2nd OCT(gandhi jayanti).

I would request all the members who would like to join us to confirm their presence on this thread by 23rd SEPT and send their contact tel nos by PM to NAVIN and ME to plan the logistics.

I would be posting a rough itinerary in a day or so.

One can visit the nearby fort of Jaygad from Ganpatipule, its at a distance of 20-25 km. The road goes till the gate of the fort. Additionally, the famous lighthouse is adjacent to the fort.

As for the physical workout, the very long beach of Ganpatipule is yours for a walk, jog or a game of cricket, beach ball. Most of the hotels/resorts are situated on the top of the plateau, except the MIDC resort. So the walk from the hotel to seashore and back could be another option.

Hi,

So far 4 members have been confirmed for the outing.

We will book the MTDC BUS for the trip to and fro and we are gonna book a 4 bed tent for the first day of the trip and then look for alternative accomdation if it doesnt suit everyone after we relax on 30th sept.

So others who want to join please do pm me or navin to book your seats and accomdation

HI Anil,
I'm a new member from Australia and I plan to travel in India for 6 months.
I arrive in Bangalore on teh 15th October and I'll stay for 2 weeks. Do you ever have a meetup for members in Bangalore?
Also, do you know anything about getting a visa extention? I have a six month visa but if I like India I would like to stay longer.

o wow!!! so finally heading to Ganapatipule....you guys will have fun there.... after the monsoon it must simply be so coooool out there....

reminds me of my last and only trip there.... tho did not get a chance to visit the nearby places but its definitely worth it.....may be i can see it with ur pix and report

The Mandir there tho has been re-made is peaceful....

did not get a chance to try out that small hill behind tho....

and the sunset there is sooooo peaceful......the ambience there at dusk just holds you there.....wanting to spend more time in the cool breeze listening to the tunes of the waves.......i loved it....tho not the best of the beaches in Konkan

have loads of fun there.... and of course will be waiting for the pix and a nice report....

o o ....well, guys..... it will be a Dry Day then so just be careful on your 'arrangements'

i am going to give this one a go. its actually my birthday on the 2nd and my lady friend is flying in for the corresponding few days.
