The 2ND IM mumbai meet on 14th Jan 2006.

Due to the overwhelming response in the last few days from the mumbai imers after the 1st IM mumbai meet, I am planning an IM mumbai meet on 14th JAN 2006 to keep the momentum going.

I have a request to moderators to move this thread in the GOA IM MEET space above the search link to enable greater visibility and better reach

I am inviting all your suggestions and we will decided as per consensus:-

1) one day beach outing or the weekend at naigaon one hour ahead of alibaug( serene beach
2) one day excavation or a weekend trek or nature walk ( avid trekker' and amyl please provide suggestions)
3) meet up at the barista at VT near sterling theatre at 7.30pm
4) to meet up at the pool side near Y.B.Chavan at 7.pm ( the members can also take a dip in the pool if they like for Rs. 100 per person, the enthusiatics get your swim wear along the other can sit and enjoy a cuppa of coffee)

Hi Anil,

Sorry, I won't be able to make it this time as I will be working that afternoon but if I can manage to get the day off then may be able to come. Would prefer a meeting in Mumbai and not outside as it may not be possible for me to go out this time. Thanks for taking the initiative again and hope you guys have fun wherever you decide to meet.

Myself and a friend will be in Mumbai for only 2 days. If you decide to meet right in Mumbai on the 14th evening, that would be wonderful for us. Poolside or cafe, whereever. We are total novices to Mumbai or India for that matter.

Thanks for organizing, I could provide a hotel number, or I will be getting a cell phone that morning.

keep your fingers crossed and your eyes on this thread ...till we await further oprinion...i feel we should reschedule it for 15th afternoon to accomadate our gyan guru "AADIL...i hope other members dont mind it ...cos it is a gr8 to have aadil around with his sea of knowledge

Anil: I don't think I deserve all those accolades (there are many more members more knowledgeable than me around here!!!) and I don't think that it is right to do that once you have announced the dates and if I am not there this time then I'm sure I will be there the next time around, I guess!!! HAHAHA!!! No one is indispensible for meetings like this and if we keep changing the dates every time to accomodate just one person all the others will not like it too!!! So please leave it at the original date and let it happen and I am sure it will be a grand success too!!! All the very best!!!

since quite a few wud be visitors here i feel a day out wud not fit in their plan...a decent place in the city itself wud be preferable...me feel.

I am in Mumbai for less than 3 days and won't be able to do beech or trek b/c of daytime plans.
However, I voted for both eve. events and would be happy to join, if that works out for most.
What is the VT venue...

The directions to the Vt barista is as such ..... bang opposite the Vt station is a lane next to MCdonalds... walk straight right in the that lane .. u will first see a coffe cafe day on your right hand side... then u walk a bit ahead and there is new empire theater on your left... a bit of trivia( basic instinct was released here in south mumbai when it hit the screens first) ....then u walk a bit ahead and u see BARISTA on your right again.....going by the response it is BARISTA on saturday 14th Jan 2006 at 7.30 pm. I am attaching my snap...it is nick named taliban.jpg (my girl friend calls me that bcos of my newly grown beard..HAHAHA) to enable members to recognise each other rather than circle around whom to approach.
