Taxi Fare

Hello all,
"Greetings" does anyone knows the taxi fare(black and yellow cab) from Benazeer Hotel to the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba, Mumbai India?

Oh! would it be better to take a taxi or an auto rickshaw bearing in mind I will be using it in the middle of April 2007?

Any assiatance will be very much appreciated.

Tara

It should most probably be around the minimum fare (Rs13) for the taxi (no autorickshaws run in that part of the city!!!) or at the most Rs16. You can also just walk it down in about 15 minutes.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Yes, from CST to Churchgate (or the other way around) at a bit more than the minimum fare at about Rs17-20 or you can even get a share-a-taxi at Rs5 per person. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Thank you.
I had to take a train from near airport (Vile Parle? Santa Cruz??)
to CST.
I could take a train to Churchgate.
Or a harbour line train to CST.
Which would be quicker??

If you are coming to the domestic airport then Vile Parle station will be closer from where you can get either the Harbour Line trains or the slow trains to Churchgate (about one hour) but if you wish to take the fast train then go to Andheri Station (East) to go to Churchgate and you will reach Churchgate in about 30 minutes. Then take the taxi to CST in about 7-10 minutes. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aadil.

There are fewer Harbour Line trains so it is much faster to take a train to Churchgate and then take a taxi from there. Best to take a fast train only during non peak hours. Also if you are coming by Air India then you will come to the International Airport at Sahar and not to the Domestic one at Vile Parle. Though the Domestic Airport is called Santacruz airport it is actually at Vile Parle.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Taxi Fare

Hello,
You mean"no rickshaw in that part of the City". Thank God. Base on what I read about these Guys I can now rest in peace.

Thanks all for the advise.

Adil, from Banazeer Hotel to the Gateway of India (I mean the business centre) is a 15 min walk. I thought its about 1.5 km in distance.

What about the city Buses? The fare. I am looking at the Map I bought and I noticed lots of bus sheads, so there are lots of buses running those routes.

Tnks

Almost all the buses that leave from outside the Hotel Benazeer will go towards Colaba. Just check with the people waiting at the bus stop to guide you as there are about 20 buses operating in that area and about 13 of them will go to Colaba where the Taj Mahal Hotel is located. The fare is the minimum of Rs4 for the short distance that you will rather enjoy walking. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aadil.
