Steakhouses

Anyone know of any proper steakhouses in Mumbai? I've been to these sizzlers places, they don't cut it, I'm looking for a fullblown t-bone.

I went to the Hard Rock Care in worli. They have a steak filet. WHile their website advertises several types of steak I was a little disappointed. Still for Mumbai it was a great place to be and will go back.

TrinTrin you might have little difficulty in finding steaks in most places in Mumbai due to religion aspects... anyways try these places... Cafe Royal opp Regal, Cafe Churchill at Colaba, Cafe Leopolds once again at Colaba or Yokos Sizzlers or else some parsi joint like Jimmy Boy etc.. not sure abt it though...
Happy Eating ...!!

I was with my friend in Bombay, and we went to Not Just Jazz by the Bay for an early dinner, and he said the steak he was having was the worst he has had in his life. Like it was microwaved. My pasta meal there was very good, but I guess it was just one of those bad steaks.

I have often bemoaned the fact that I have yet to eat a good TBone in India.

Even though I have turned vegetarian recently, I might make an exception for a good steak!

I'm planning a visa run in about a month so I know exactly where I'll be going first in New York.

If I was on a visa run and I ate steak there would be only one place I went and that would be the Thamel district of Kathmandu. I saw my friend eat steak in a different restaurant every night and absolutely loved every one of them. As for me I loved the bacon butties!

The last time i heard anythign about Nepal it was a police state... has that changed? I'd like to maybe take a trip up there since I'm in the area.

Do they discount air and what not there from Mumbai?

Nepal is by no means a police state. Since last year the Maoists have been part of a government that takes in many political parties thus resulting in a lot of stalemate politically. There are still frequent strikes in all parts of the country but at the moment they seem to be partiularly in the Terai which incorporates the national parks of Chitwan and Bardia. These can result in frustrating travel links with the rest of the country but it is for one or two days, never more than that with the rare exception of a week long strike recently.
All that said the impact on the tourist is minimal if at all and should not prevent you from enjoying and learning about the country while there. The trekking is unbeatable, the rafting superb and the people very friendly. Post 2006 Nepal seems to be getting (albeit slowly) back on its feet.

I don't really understand this sentence but there are less flights than there used to be with an increase on the horizon, you can fly with Jet, Sahara and Air India from Delhi but only the latter out of Varanasi/Benares. As for Mumbai, I really don't know but my guess would be via Delhi.
