sports store in Mumbai?

Hello alltogether,

the yellow pages of Navi Mumbai did not tell me anything, so I have to go to Mumbai itself, I guess:
I am looking for a sports store to buy a pair of sport shoes or lightweight trekking shoes. As I am thinking of going to Cobala this week-end, something in that quarter would be ideal, otherwise I have to stop on the way there or back.
Perhaps you have a suggestion near the railway from Nvai Mumbai to Mumbai Central?

Thanks a lot so far

if you are going to colaba you can find lot of sport shops on the colaba causway or then go to the Metro theatre, around which you will definately find lot of them.

Instead of Yellow pages you should visit the Shopping malls which generally have one or more shops dedicated to sports / footwear.

Try out the “Center One” mall at Vashi
There are quite a number of shoe shops at Vashi Sector 17 Market too

Lightbulb Trekking boots

If you want trekking boots head straight for avi industries just outside Matunga Central Railway Stn [East] Tele no 02224143810 and cell no is 09820089203

The website... http://www.aviindustries.com/

The ones in Colaba are not too good on trekking shoes per se, although one or two did have actual trekking shoes by Salomon. The shopkeepers in Colaba have really no concept of a trekking shoe, btw. coz i have wasted a lot of time there.

Thank you all for your hints.

In Cobala, I will be this weekend anyways.

Anindya, I have never seen trekkings-Shoes in a shoe-shop anywhere in Center One or sector 17. I have also to admit, that I would never expect them to be found there. Even in Germany, Trekking-shoes are sold in Sport stores, not in shoe stores, and I guess that the Indians buy Trekking boots less often than Europeans. Can you point out a specific store?

I will try the other hints as time allows. Thank you. (Further suggestions are ofcourse welcome )

Hi

From your first post it was not specific whether you wanted a sports shoe or a trekking shoe, so I posted for general stores which might have trekking shoes. Like the shop at ground floor of center one sells shoes from Woodland, some of woodland shoes are for trekking and outdoor activities.

However, if you are specifically looking for trekking shoes then AVI Industries will definitely have one. Also the Nirmal Lifestyle store in Inorbit shopping mall, Malad has quite a few imported outdoor shoes.

Dancing feet,

On colaba causeway you have the reebok, nike, adidas and bata store. All well known brands for sports shoes.
best of luck

Many thanks for all your hints. Yesterday I had a successful visit at avi industries. I bought a pair of trekking boots there, unfortunately only in men's shape, but that's the compromise as punishment for not taking my belowed ones from Germany.
