And that's exactly where my friend's sister took me. Lovely shop. Staff that was very helpful without being pushy.
I tried on two pairs of churidars, and though they looked good on me, I didn't feel comfy in them. Too little space for manoeuvring, so with some degree of regret I went for the salwars instead. Quote:
I also went to Friendship at Santacruz West. I bought two lovely cotton/silk mix kurti, but it was a very different experience. Perhaps because on this occasion I was a Westerner without the back up of an Indian woman? I don't know, could easily be just a difference in 'shop culture', but here they tried much harder to interest me in buying more than I intended. Well, I managed to make an escape, nothing but a couple of friendly smiles the poorer Ok here goes. All dressed up in silk on leaving the ceremony, including matching purse (and the gift I received as a married lady - little did they know ) What do you think? Mmm, the jasmine in my hair. I could smell it even the day after. I wanna go baaaack ![]() Sobbing regards, Britta

Thanks, Brishti, I felt great too. It was a wonderful day that I will never forget. All those impressions... There was 'food' for all senses. I didn't know the meaning of even a small %tage of what went on on the stage, but never mind, I'm sure the priests did, after all it's their job
The ceremony went on for something like 10 hours, but we were there for 4-5, taking loads of pictures (our host had asked us to), chatting to people and having a fabulous time. And to think that our hostess was worried that we were bored Oh well, I suppose I'd have worried too if I'd invited her to some protestant ceremony And the kid, the vatu, he was the happiest boy in India that day, smiling radiantly, looking too cute for words. Mani - of course we will Glad you got the sms. Just thought you might be wondering how we were doing. Time just flew as I knew it would and suddenly I found myself going through that 2am hell of leaving India Britta |
