IIT must have a married students hostel. You can check that.
If you prefer there is a Central School in IIT. There are lots of private schoold but getting admission at this time would be difficult.

You will get house on rent easily in Powai Market area, or in chandivali (nearby areas) you have Kendriya vidhyalaya inside IIT campus but I am sure its above 5th std, and just 5 min distance (OUtside campus) you Kendriya vidhyalaya for below 5th std.
Hiranandani school is another option but its difficult to get addmission there.

Welcome to Mumbai. As other friends suggest, staying at IIT campus would be a better option. Else, you can find apartments on rent in the following nearby locations:-
1. Powai Market Area (middle-class look; cheaper rents).
2. Hiranandani Gardens Powai (posh area; very costly).
3. Chandivali (you can find 2BHK for around 20k per month on rent).
Probably your children would be already studying in Army School, yeah? If not, and you're looking for private schools:-
1. SM Shetty School (Hiranandani Gardens, Powai).
2. Bombay Scottish School (Chandivali, Raheja Vihar).
In this same Raheja Vihar, you can find a 1BHK for around 15,000 rupees on rent or 2BHK between 20-25 thousand. It is a posh area again. (However you may end up paying brokerage, as most of the vacant houses very rarely get advertised here).
