I think the link from his site may not work - I typed it in and so far no bounceback. The hotel in Colaba quoted us 1200 for the airport pickup when we arrive in Mumbai - so if people think 1200 for day is expensive that looks like daylight robbery!

I have no intention of arriving at night in Mumbai after a 15 hour flight on our first trip to India and not having pre-arranged transport to the hotel.. so I'm hoping I can book Amin or another driver for the pickup at a cheaper rate than the hotel! We have 5 days in Mumbai at the end of our trip - so a full day tour with someone like this sounds like a great way to get familiar with the city.

If I only had one day I'd consider it too rather than just pottering on my own - at least you know you'll see lots of things and will have someone to show you around.

A prepaid taxi really in no hassle - perhaps have a map with directions if it is not in the popular locations.

I know, in theory, but with a tired and over excited kid in tow and bags and culture shock it just mught all be too much! I wonder what it SHOULD cost in a taxi?

I'm thread hijacking - Sorry!!!!!!

I have also used Amin as my driver/tour guide several times in Mumbai (and now consider him a great friend too) I will be using his services again when I arrive there in November.

I just phoned him to let him know that people are trying to contact him. He is having some internet connection problems. You can phone him on the mobile number listed on his website. www.snehatravels.in Also if you want to PM me I will try and put you in contact.

I hope this is OK under the IndiaMike rules!!

Thanks,
Georgia

Thank you for that information. I will wait to see if I can contact him on email. When are you planning to be there? Im hoping that he may be available on Monday 5 November or Tuesday 6th (less than 2 weeks now I guess) as I arrive in Mumbai on Sunday 4th and would really like a good introduction to Mumbai with a trusted guide as I am a single female traveller. He sounds like he is a very popular man.
