Old and New Posters in Mumbai?

Yo,

I need to do some redecorating and am getting rid of some of the art in my office.

i was wondering where i could pick up some cool posters and have them framed.

Also, i have been told of a place in Colaba where i could get old movie posters but no one has been able to pin point it there or anywhere else.

ideas would be much appreciated.

Hm. I'd usually pick up stuff like that from street vendors for a couple of Rupees, but may not be precisely what you're looking for, I mean it won't be high quality. You'll realize those big boards are hand-painted, it they still are.

Those posters are a hassle to get home in one piece btw. If you do want to go by those street vendors, they won't be hard to find -- except when you're desperately looking for them, of course.

ummm I saw a good collection with a man sitting near the McD opp. CST. He, of course had the usual stuff Macha mentioned but also some nice quality paintings kind of posters. If it doesn't meet your expectations he can at least guide you to some other place, am sure.

naah! As I said he has the usual crappy things for there are customers for it but he also has other stuff. Check it out on that footpath if he has not shifted his place to somewhere else. I saw some good posters about the village life of Rajasthan and things like that. They were cool!

BTW there is one IMer, who I suppose is not regular but makes some incredible paintings. Check out his samples at www.sukart.com. I really liked the Kabaddi and Tractor one he has put on one of his his work-pages.

At the very beginning of this version of the clip http://www.geobeats.com/videoclips/i...ai/mini-market
he says it's in Motton Street, Chor Bazaar ... so maybe you can just walk up and down, looking for it - ?

It's also known as Thieves' Bazar, and quite famous there.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chor_bazar (That doesn't give you much, but search the web for it.)
