Hi Ronak

London April 05 4.02
Cardiff October 05 3.30
Rotterdam April 06 3.34
Eindhoven October 07 3.28

Mumbai Jan 08 Poss 4.00 - 4.30 Allowing for the conditions.

Depends on the start time and the weather conditions

I was going to do it last year but I got an injury.

That's great. Four Marathons. Good timing as well for a non professional. Mumbai Jan 20' 08, at that time the weather will be the coolest we have in Mumbai. & most of the time you will be running by the sea side. I think you can easily make it under 4.0 it not under 3.30.

Last year If I remember correctly, the winner clocked the best time in four years.

Hi Many thanks for that if the run is as good as the launch party looked we will be ok. The Mumbai Marathon is part of the greatest race on earth (GROE) which is Nairobi/Singapore/Mumbai/Hong Kong. The second leg is Singapore which is on 02 Dec next weekend. It is really tough cause of the heat/humidity (but you would know that)and starts at 05.30 in the morning 31000 last year in total awesome. Maybe 2008/9 for me after I get India out of my system.

Launch party was great & the marathon will be great too. Organisers are learning from their past mistakes & last year organising was near perfect. This year also expect the same.

Whoa! That humidity in Singapore. Even some of the the greatest athletes like (Oh I forgot his name..Sir...ok google..) Sir Ranulph Fiennes who ran Seven marathons in Seven continents.....in seven days....consecutive!!!! admitted Singapore run was the toughest of all the runs. I admit....BUT I do not give a damn to this sweating and absolutely love the abundant sunshine I get here.(Tho it's a little too cloudy n rainy in Nov/Dec)

Excerpt:

The Singapore leg, run in tropical heat and humidity, had been the biggest challenge.
Hydrating yourself is a life saving practice at such places. The pollution and dust in Mumbai might just make it a wee bit tougher. (Yes, it's morning and no vehicles on the marathon road but still you cannot get away from it)

Impressive. Ralph Fiennes cousin, aye. I wouldn't mind running around Bombay, but I can't be bothered running 42km! I'd rather cycle. I'm pretty fit but I don't think I can do 42km.

Any one fancy a chat/chai after the race. Aadil see you where in my hometown Liverpool a while back (and even in Port Sunlight) how about a compare Liverpool/Mumbai debate would love your thoughts on our town.

The last 3 miles coming down from Malabar Hill and round Chowpatty beach were a killer in the heat.

Congrats Paul on the achievement.
I participated in the dream run, actually more of a dream walk (because of the crowds). Next year I plan to upgrade to half marathon after participating in dream run for all five years. Any tips ?
