Mumbai - Ellora - Ajanta

Hi

Been reading the forums about Ellora and Ajanta Caves but I am a bit confused:

Is the train from Mumbai the best option to Caves (ie Aurangabad)?
How to get from Aurangabad to the Caves (which one first Ellora or Ajanta)?
Should I stay in Aurangabad or Jalgaon?
If yes, how to get from Aurangabad to Jalgaon?

Thanks!

Hi
Train from mumbai is the best , there is one train in the after noon which reach Aurengabad at night ,
stay there for that night .Next mroning you can go to Ellora , and back to your camp ,and move to ajantha next day , and from there you can go to Jalgaon reach the main line,

there are busses from Aurengabad to Ajantha by the tourisum dept which will take you back . so if your plan is to go back to Mumbai to head south you can take this option.
or if you r going to north or east you better stay at Ajantha for one night or you can go to Jalgaon straight away

There are two night trains that leave Mumbai at about 9 pm and 11pm on alternate days which reach in the morning at about 5 am and later so best to sleep it off on the train and be fresh to start the day in Aurangabad or go to Ellora and then the next day for Ajanta caves.

The Manmad-Begumpet Express is a convenient daily train, leaving Aurangabad at 19=20 and arriving Begumpet at 08=30 next morning.

A faster train is the bi-weekly(Thu and Sun) Manmad-Kakinada Express, leaving Aurangabad at 21=00 and reaching Secunderabad at 09=10 the next morning.
