Mumbai Domestic Airport

Gday
Flying from Jaipur to Goa, via Mumbai, and my wonderful travel agent booked us on Indian Airlines for one leg and Jet Airways for the other leg !

Does anyone know / have experience transferring from the Indian Airlines domestic terminal to the Jet Airways domestic terminal in Mumbai (and vice versa).

Please advise method (taxi, shuttle???). Expected time frame? Inconvenience factor? Unusual issues to be aware of? etc

Yours in frustration

There is only one domestic terminal - no transfers are necessary. The other terminal is for international flights.

Despite the above, I can categorically say that the terminal that services Indian Airlines' domestic flights is definately DIFFERENT to the terminal that services Jet Airways!

Perhaps Indian Airlines lands at the International Terminal? Perhaps certain Indian Airline flight (originating from Jaipur and Goa) land here?

I passed through Mumbai twice in late November 2004 and I walked for 10 minutes (outside) from one terminal to the other (passed the taxi rank and through the car park) - not difficult, just inconvenient (I am glad it wasn't too hot or too wet).

Jet & IA are at different buildings. But they are close by that you can walk (about 1km+). Do you have a lot of luggage to carry?

IA & Alliance Air are in the same building (reach the first floor for departure, Ground floor is arrival)

All other private (Jet, Sahara, Decan,…) are all together at a diffident building.

When you are arriving from the city, the taxi driver asks if it is IA or jet. He takes a deviation after reaching the airport locality.

Just ask someone for directions after coming out of the airport building. The agent might have booked like that due to availability etc. Usually they don’t do it, as it is easier for them to manage with a single airline.

You have to collect your baggage and re check in. There is no automatic transfer between these two buildings.

The international terminal is a bit far from the domestic(not walkable, catch taxi, the free bus etc). But all uses the same runway to land and takeoff!!
