Mumbai - Airport to Fort
My flight reaches Mumbai at 7:15 am. I have an exam to take at 10 am. The center is in Pherozeshah mehta road , Fort, Mumbai. I intend to take a taxi from the airport .Considering the morning traffic do you think 2 hours is adequate to reach mehta road from the airport? if my flight is on time that is.After my exam I plan to eat my lunch at Brittania (I believe this is very close to Pherozeshah mehta road). Then I have some work at shahid bhagat singh road in colaba. WHat is the best way to get to bhagat singh in colaba from pherozeshah mehta in fort? buses/taxis? How far ir it? how long would it take?
help please. |

2 hours is more than enough at that time. Actual driving time may be around an hour or even less if you get a crazy taxi driver
![]() Take a cab from PM Road to Colaba if you are in a hurry- they are very close to each other. You could even walk if you are not in a hurry, maybe 15/20 minutes walk to the near end of SBS Road, dunno how far you have to go down it, though. |

It should not take you more time if you go early in the morning depending on how soon you get out of the airport terminal and if the flight is on time. It should still take you about an hour at least. Try taking the JJ flyover from Delisle Road for the shortest and fastest way possible to get into town. From Fort to Colaba (Shahid Bhagat Singh Road) is walkable distance unless you want to go to the other end of Colaba for which you would be better off taking a bus or a taxi.
Cheers, Aadil.

Kaalia hope you have travelled earlier also to mumbai airport .
Assuming that it s a domestic flight scince your location say s hyderabad you shall reach from airport to fort very conviniently in 30 min s for sure . Morning once you leave arirport and hit the W E highway there shall be almost no trrafic at all . And yes the destination s viz Brittinia Pherozshah road and Bhagat Singh road all are walk able distance s. |

If you are taking a taxi from the Domestic Terminal then it should be something around Rs200. You will be given a fare chart by the security guard at the taxi stand when you board your taxi and give your name and destination to them. Tell the driver to take a left turn at the Mahim Church and then go along Senapati Bapat Marg towards NM Joshi Marg (Delisle Road) before going via JJ Flyover to CST and then on to Fort. This is the shortest route possible and also the fastest so just tell the driver where to take you from so that he does not take you for a ride around the city. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Aadil. |

Hey aadil...thanks dude. I returned to Hyd today.I took a taxi at the airport and just after crossing Mahim Church, remembered your advice. By then the driver had already taken a right at the church. I told him that he should have taken the left and gone via senapati bapat marg, jj flyover and vt. he said 'dono mein dus bees rupya ka fark hai..bas' he further added that the roads there were narrow and morning time mein jam rahta hai. and the rascal takes me via worli, haji ali, marine drive and churchgate. The fare comes to 350. Man was I angry. I told him that the other route wouldnt have costed more than 200 and he was like ' pehle bolna tha'...
while returning , i took the taxi at shahid bhagat singh colaba. 2 mins after he'd started the dude asks me ' kaise jaana hai'? i tell him, 'vt, senapatai bapat marg, jj flyover , mahim church se jaana'..I see the dude nodding his head in agreement (the guy knows his mumbai ...he mustve thought)..and hthe fare to the airport comes to 210. Thanks once again. |
