Mumbai Airport to Ballard estate?
My flight arrives at Bombay airport at 9:05 am. My flight to goa is at 4 pm. Do you think I can make it from the airport to Ballard Estate and be back to the airport by 3 pm? The idea of going all the way to Ballard estate is to have lunch at the famed Brittania. 6 hours in Bombay and I wouldnt like to miss a chance to taste the berry pulao and sali boti at Brittania. Given that it is Monday and mumbais notorious traffic , is it possible to do this without missing my flight to goa.

If you manage to work out the logistics, I would try and make sure Brittania will actually be open at the time you can go. I shlepped over there from a different part of town, only to find it closed. I don't remember the day of the week or the exact time of day this was - but I do remember feeling vaguely shocked, so it must have been a reasonable mealtime (I'm used to the concept of restaurants closing for the afternoon between lunch and dinner).

Britannia in Sprotts Steet is definitely open on a Monday.
They are only closed on Sundays and they do not dinners. i.e. close at 4 pm. And it is worth the trip, the food is fantastic. Enjoy! |

Ah, IndiaAddict just explained my conundrum -- I didn't know they weren't open for dinner.
Yet another reason to throw my Lonely Planet out the window... |
