Coffee shop/beer at a hotel? At that time most everything else will be almost closed. You could stay on at the international terminal, but too long. Domestic will be almost closed, at least till early morning. Don't know the latest on when they let you in for a 7/8am flight these days. PS: Try to check in at the international airport for your domestic flight, if possible. Some airlines do that. Can get rid of luggage that way.

Hello, if you have a domestic flight with private companies, go by the free shuttle ( possible all the night) to the new domestic terminal. It's more quite and the international airport is on work since 2 years...

My parents had to wait in Mumbai for about the same amount of time. They went to the domestic airport and the airline put them on a much earlier flight, because they had seats available. That was Jet Airways. So that might be worth a try....

Is that 8 hours excluding the time required to get baggage, clear customs etc? If you you have to catch another flight after the "8 hours" it will probably shrink down to 3-4 hours (2 hours to check out and 2+ hours to check in to your next flight)
