taxi and train

Even at 5.30 am when the road traffic is low, I would suggest going to Church gate or VT station and taking the train to Dadar (dadar is a commen station on central and western line so you can get trains from Churchgate as well as Victoria Terminus now called CST- Chattarpati Shivaji Terminus).

Colaba to VT taxi should take Rs. 30-40 and 10 min and the fist class train ticket to Dadar should be around Rs. 40 and should take not more than 20 min.
