We have been looking for a similar thing and I have booked (through eglobe-hotels.com) the Hotel Four Seasons Juhu which was about US$70. However I have just read some reviews of it from the Virtual Tourist Website which were terrible and said the hotel was awful and had rats! So I'm now wondering whether or not to cancell and find somewhere else. Does anyone know this hotel?

I stayed in the Shangri La hotel by the airport in 2003. It cost 700 rupees with a.c. and t.v. Theres also a the international hotel(i think thats the name) around the corner from the Shangri La. It cost 1000 rupees, but was full when I was there. Both of these places are in the Lonely Planet.

I stayed last week at " The Emerald" at Juhu, 50Euro a night via Laterooms.com.
Perfectly clean and decent, very friendly, good breakfast and only 150 rupees taxi from domestic airport. John |

I stayed at the Shangi-La in 2003 and paid 700 INR a night, with t.v. and a.c., but I know they have cheaper room's without a.c. and t.v. I think they were 300 INR. You can find them in the Lonely Planet.

Hotel Near Mumbai Airport
Hi, in March we are flying from Canada to Goa, but have to spend the night in Mumbai..We get in later at night around 9:00 pm and after 30 hours of travellling will need to get a good night sleep before flying to Goa the following afternoon Anyone know of a decent but not really expensive hotel near the airport??Then, the flight to Goa i am thinking about booking (Spicejet) does not leave Mumbai til 4:15 pm...Does that give us enough time to do anything in Mumbai, and what could we do?? Then on the way back from Goa on our way to BKK, we have another overnight in Mumbai, arriving t 3:35 pm and not departing untill 5:20 am the next day...Any suggestions on what to do?? I hadn't really given any thought to visiting Mumbai ![]() Last edited by Dilliwala : Nov 14th, 2008 at 17:55. Reason: merged thread |

Try Hotel Atithi, which is a stone's throw away from the domestic airport at Mumbai.

Lots to do in Mumbai if you have the time but it seems you hardly have any during the two short transit halts here!!! Try the Hotel Highway Residency just 1km from the International airport and about the same distance away from the Domestic airport. Not very helpful when you want to be in town to see all the sights there and especially when you don't have much time. Or else you could have stayed in town near the Colaba or Fort area with better facilities and cheaper prices too. Take a look at my Mumbai page link below for things to do in Mumbai if you wish and hope you find it useful to plan something that you find interesting in half a day. If you have any more specific queries please ask, will be glad to help.
Cheers, Aadil.

Mumbai Airport Information.
Quote:
They are about 2-3 kms apart from the outside but the airport itself is the same!!! Only the two terminal buildings are accessible from different locations so they are called Terminal IA and IB for the domestic airport near Vile Parle Railway Station (though it was called Santacruz airport, as it was the older airport at Santacruz that is now known as Old Airport even though the airport is still the same but just the terminals are called new names according to the locations and sounds very confusing!!!) and Terminal 2A and 2C for the international airport near Sahar, Andheri. At the domestic terminals the area is different for each of them whereas at the international airport they are in the same main building but at opposite ends. Hope this helps. If you are in transit then you can always take the inter-terminal free coach service from inside the terminals to the other domestic terminal or vice versa but in your case it will be a halt so that will not be necessary. You can take a hotel that is situated somewhere inbetween the two airports or near any one of them as well since they are not too far apart but then be careful as the traffic between these two places is really bad at peak hours as well as at most hours so keep atleast half an hour for travel from the hotel to the airport. The only instance where the flight to Goa will be from the international airport is if it is an Air India flight which is just once a week so most probably you are not on it!!! Hope this helps. Cheers, Aadil. |

Hotels near Mumbai domestic airport
My version of this question: are there hotels near Mumbai's domestic airport that will arrange to have a driver meet us?
Earlier posts said that there is no pre-paid taxi at the domestic airport. The US State Department (http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_p.../cis_1139.html) has warned: "Visitors to Mumbai should be extremely vigilant when traveling along the roads leading from the domestic and international airports. Locals and foreigners alike, including American citizens, have reported being robbed while traveling along these roads. In most cases, the victim took a taxi whose driver was complicit in the robbery. In other cases, men traveling on motorcycles stopped the traveler’s vehicle or taxi while en route from the airport, demanding money and/or the traveler’s luggage before driving off." We will be arriving from Udaipur about 8pm and just need a convenient place to stay until a 7am flight the next morning. I would rather not wait until our arrival to make a hotel reservation by telephone. Cost isn't a problem, but I wouldn't consider Marriott or Hyatt prices. Is there anyplace <$100 US (preferably with a web site that might give me a feel for where we are going)? Thanks. Diane Last edited by Dilliwala : Nov 14th, 2008 at 17:58. |
