Health/water issues in Mumbai

The papers here in Canada have been full of news of health problems and lack of clean water in Mumbai following the big flood in early August. Have those problems been resolved ? I am planning on travelling there in November and wonder if I should change my plans??

Welcome to IndiaMike, ch1.

You will be fine, do not worry. Unlike that other coastal city that had a big flood recently and is also facing health problems, Mumbai is located slightly above sea level, and hence, inevitably, has gradually been drying out.

Hi Ch1. Welcome to India Mike. Mumbai is now back to normal although "normal" for Mumbai may be considered "abnormal" here in Vancouver.

.....and normal for us local Mumbaikars might be dangerous for foreigners or overseas Indians. Things are not back to normal and there are still problems with disease etc. If I were you I would avoid Mumbai for a few months. Why take any unnecessary risks and ruin your holiday...

Obviously you do not live in Mumbai so you are ignorant of the situation. The problems from these floods are not only in the slums. I have numerous friends living in the suburbs who are quite sick and they do not live in slums. Some of them died so I suggest that you not make comments unless you are 100% aware of the situation.
