Has anyone had problems with YWCA Mumbai ?

Hi Folks,

Has anyone had problems with booking a room from overseas with YWCA at 18 Madame Cama Road ?

They replied to my email enquiry requesting a bank draft to secure a room. This was the only way to get a booking.

So 2 weeks ago I sent a large deposit via bank draft and then I have heard nothing !!! I have had no replies to my emails asking for conformation of my booking and I am more that a bit worried as to what has happened to my money !!!

Can anyone shed any possible light on the subject ? I am starting to think bad things !!!

Has the money been withdrawn from your bank's account? I guess the draft may not have reached them since it takes quite a few days for post to reach Indian destinations compared to other countries in the world. Try to ask them once more via email. They are a bit slow in responding usually so you could try calling them on the phone to check if they have received the draft. Hope this helps.

many thanks for your comments. I do feel a little worried that my money mayhave been taken. But as you say I will give them a call and hopefully have a chat.

You can check with your bank if the money has been withdrawn to see if it has been encashed by them. I don't think they would do that kind of thing with travelers. I have seen the place and they are not likely to deceive someone like that.

Everything is fine now !!! I rang them direct and they recieved my money and confirmed my reservarion.

I then recieved a confirmation of my booking 3 weeks later !!!! Sometimes things are a little slow over there.
