Good Restaurants around Juhu /Santacruz area

Hi,
I'm travelling with a group of 8 friends to Mumbai from London and we're staying at the Marriot and Grand Hyatt. We're planning a night out and want to know any good high quality indian restaurants around juhu/santacruz area?

There are many in that area. Depends on the type of cuisine you are interested in.

We're thinking of Indian (we're all NRIs) As we can get pizza's and all that at the hotel. I was in Mumbai last year, but didnt manage to eat out anywhere. Is Sachin Tendulkars place any good food wise? I know it might be a journey from Juhu.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Here's a place an indian friend from Bombay took me to that was down the street from my hotel by the airport. I was staying at the Shangi-La Hotel, which is close to the International Hotel. The restaurant was a few block's from my hotel on the main road. I don't knoww the name of the road. But the food was excellent. We ate downstairs in the A.C. area. My friend told me that people who worked at the airport eat here. And the people eating next to us happened to be custom's officer's.
I still have a napkin from there so I have there name and number!
The name is: Hotel Bharat Restaurant and Bar
TEL.:2617 9738/ 2612 2820

You can ask them for directions if you care to give them a try! There not a fancy place.Just a normal restaurant with great Indian food.

For Indian food

Saffron at the Mariott itself is supposed to be quite good.

I know there is a really good place at the Grand Maratha near the airport which isnt too far.

Sheesha at Bandra serves good Indian food.

in all honesty however my fav place for Indian food so far has been Papa Panchos in Bandra.

The Class(awesome gujarati thali afternoons) and mahesh lunch(Malvani lunch and dinner) home just opposite the Marriot
It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare dream of meeting your heart's longing.

Hi LondonBoy,

There is a good site called burrp where you can read reviews and ratings on a lot of restaurants, bars and clubs in Mumbai. Here is the url: http://mumbai.burrp.com/ I think, you can search by area too.

Good luck with your trip. I used burrp site when I was in Mumbai last time (2 weeks ago).

you can visit my blog to read a very recent review of Dum Pukth. if you come town side there is Khyber, Masala Kraft (Taj) Koyla that do very good Indian Food.

I will also vouch for the Sun at Napean Sea Road and Papa Pancho n Bandra.

Read your blog ITCGM was never there as a hotel (I used to be an elite on starwood before moving to rewards) Early DumPukth was very good (have'ne been for dinner in the last two visits to BOM. ) and now I gather, that Dum Pukth in Delhi has the top honors in the Sheraton chain ...

Thanks for all suggestions.

On the burrp site I saw a place called Spice Tree in Bandra which looks good? How is that? Has anyone been there?
Also half of us are Vegetarians: Is Spcie tree ok for Veggies? And what about Mahesh lunch home, is that a pure seafood place or Ok for veggies?

yup. your spot on. the hotel just never made it. i think the Le Meridien is also in the Starwood chan (IIRC) but i dont know much about their dining facilities. My girlfriend used to work at the ITC/Mariott chains in Delhi and she swears by Pan Asian as well as their South Indian restaurant Dakshin. both of which are here as well.

When in Delhi i think Bukhara usually takes top honours across the board.
