An good option would be to travel to Powai where you will get different places to eat. Visit Safron Spice there for good Indian food else you can visit Signature at Saki Naka !

A good bar would be either at Hotel Renaissance Powai or one of the five starts around the international airport like the Leela's.

Cheers

how far is powai from Andheri ?
Not to keen on 5* hotels for bars they tend to be very dull with opera music dinging in your ears and lack of atmosphere
Anywher else ? also how long do you think a taxi from anderhi to juhu beach will take thanks again
sharon
P.S WOULD I BE BETTER OFF GOING TO SAY FORT AREA FOR A MEAL

From your Andheri hotel powai is some 15 min away only..

If you plan to go to Fort (South Mumbai) options are plenty there and also in Bandra

Sharon,

Well bandra / juhu would take approx 30-45min travel subject to time of day.In you like seafood go to Mahesh Lunch Home at Juhu next to JW Marriot. As mentioned earlier Signature at Sakinaka you get good Indian food, alternatively visit Sun N Sand Hotel Juhu for good Indian fare...do have the Black Dal for sure..its to die for...

In terms of spicy just mention you like it mild/non-spicy when placing the order.

cheers

Sharon, Ill bite.

If you want to get some good Indian Food i would suggest you try
Namak at Sahara Star (Santa Cruz Airport)
Dum Pukth & Peshawari both at ITC Grand Maratha (Near the International Airport)
both these places are fairly close to Andheri between 10-30 mins depending on traffic.

If you are willing to travel a little i would recommend
Kebabs n Kurries at ITC Grand Central Lalbaugh (45mins-60mins minimum drive)

These are five star hotel restaurants and offer incredible food.

If in the mood for European i would recommend Indigo at Colaba (90 min drive) I have heard good things about Aurus in Juhu (30 min drive)

If in colaba you can also try Moti Mahal at the INOX and for some Mediterranean go for Frangipani or Souk at the Oberoi or the Taj both at Colaba. At the Taj Landes End you can try Pure for some molecular gastronomy a la Fat Duck (not as close but still not bad) You should also try the ISCKON temple in Juhu But it is all vegetarian fare. Partake in a Thali experience, at Golden Star (Charni Road)

there is more to Indian food then just Chicken and Curry you can try authentic South Indian at Dakshin also at the ITC Maratha but only open for dinner.

Plenty to eat. Get on with it.

If you are having lunch at juhu try "The class" the Gujarati thali oppossit JW marriot 5 min from juhu beach.

OF for a snack of bhel puri or chaat "gokul" near the aeroplane park santacruz 10 min from juhu (guess its in one of the bylanes so would need to ask. Its popular with the locals.

If you want to try some South Indian food go to Woodlands (Roof top) next to Kala Niketan at Vile Parle (On the road to Juhu beach).

Ronak.

i would recommend Corleone at Intercontinental, Trattoria at President.

Also Cafe Basilico at Colaba and Moshe at Cuffe Parade. All excellent choices.

Arriving in Mumbai about mid-day on Sunday 3rd Feb and our train to Hubli leaves at 21.30. So we are considering going to the Fort area to get some lunch (Britannia, has been recommended)
I would like to get some snacks/food to take on the train, can you suggest the best things get and where I could buy them.
