Today I was at Cafe Basilico with some friends and they really amazed me with their service!!! We had gone to have some after dinner coffee, tea and desserts and guess what? The waiter could not differentiate between what he brought us and served us the opposite of what we had ordered. First he gave my Darjeeling Orange Pekoe tea as Columbian coffee to my friend and gave the lovely teapot as coffee to me!!! When we reconfirmed the tea and coffee request with him he said yes, the teapot was coffee and the coffee press was the Darjeeling tea!!! So we made him smell the coffee and tea till he realised his mistake!!! The raspberry drink was made with a sweet syrup and crush rather than the fresh fruit it was supposed to be made of so we returned it and asked for another drink which was a unsweetened lime and ginger juice which turned out to be extremely salty and no ginger added!!! When we complained they just shrugged it off without any proper apology so we decided it was high time to walk out!!! The tiramisu was the only saving grace.
Will think twice before taking my friends out there again!!! I have been there before but never had such bad service or food. Aadil.

Well Aadil as said earlier it was just a bad day ....
By the was have u tried this small home run joint opp Basilico in the lane and first right, its called Kabab Corner.. its awesome... nice small place, no a/c, neat food and preety cheap. It give you a very homely feeling.. On Sunday i tried Garcias, in my opnion i prefer the taste of Somkin Joes / Pizzeria as compared to Garcias. |

Ok its rainy and cloudy for last 72 hrs..
and have been coming to Office daily ....am still in my office .... and we decided to order lunch from outside ...Fountain Sizzler, at Flora Fountain, Fort, was the place choosen for this occasion. Since it was only me and one other colleague who joined this endevour we ordered : - Green Thai Curry with Rice - Penne pasta in Arabitta sauce.. I never had anything but Sizzlers at this place...and consider it to be the place which serves the best sizlers in the town. Well these dishes turned out to be great....Thai curry was excellent with strong ginger, star anise and coconuty flavour.. The real winner was there pasta...now where-ever i had pasta before, most of the places just dished out spaggeti or penne in a thick tomato gravy and considered it as job done...but not here. This place served pasta with excellent subtle flavouring where the taste was derived from Sun dried tomato's and chilli flakes and olive oil...the taste was just not bland tomato but it was the way it should be... Excellent pasta it was.... Nothing better than a good meal to cheer a gloomy day. |

I had visited fountain sizzlers few months ago but was not happy with their sizzlers etc.. the put off happened when a insect fell into the drink which i was having.. ( i know it can happen any place) also i prefer the sizzlers at Kobe, Yokos or Cafe Royal as compared to fountain sizzlers...

well.. u really cant take an incident like insect ruining ur mood as an indicator for the quality of food served in Fountain Sizzlers.
Well in case of sizzlers my preference is in following order: 1. Fountain Sizzlers 2. Royal Cafe 3. Yoko's 4. Cream Centre / Bombay Blues 5. Kobe's |
