Furniture - sofa bed Mumbai
Hi, We have recently moved to Mumbai, and we are trying to find a good comfortable sofa-bed. Does anyone know any good furniture shops where we could buy one from?
Would be great if anyone can help at all, Thanks |

dreaming_turtle, my information is dated, but Living Room at Mahim used to be quite famous for these. Not so far from you either.
We bought one, lasted us about 15 years and was sold only because we got fed up with it. http://www.livingroomindia.com/prod_...sofacumbed.htm Local Mumbai members will know better, so do wait for them. |

No idea of Mumbai, but in Delhi it is very commonly available of all sizes at punchkuyian road and kirti nagar. Though one should be efficient in bargaing to crack a real DEAL !!

Better Homes has a huge outlet just opposite the Andheri (East) Railway station with more than five floors full of furniture on display. I guess you can' get a bigger choice than this. Living Room has a few outlets in the city and is also pretty famous as Capt. has mentioned from experience. Furniturewala is another place where you can look for what you want. Godrej also is into making furniture besides their well known cupboards and safes so you can try out their showrooms as well. Akbarally's Furniture at Veer Nariman Road, Fort is another place you could try. Big Bazaar also has some stuff but then it is not something that will last a long time. You also get stuff from foreign brands like Durian and others that will be pretty expensive as well so it all depends on your budget and how long you wish to use it. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Aadil.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I wanted to find the western style mechanism that you pull out from inside the sofa. I found one in probably the most expensive interior design shop Pinakin, but for a hefty price. I have actually found a shop in Bandra who can supposedly get hold of the mechanism and then insert it into any kind of sofa, so we're having one made in the end. Now we've just got to hope that it turns out vaguely similar to how we want it! |

All sofa-cum-beds have a simple mechanism which allows you to pull out and it can comfortably sleep two.It becomes a 180 degree bed.
In the morning you push it inside and voila it is a proper sofa with a backrest . I bot mine from living room mahim about 27 years ago.I am still using it though i had to change the cloth a few times. Also i had to to get it repaired by the carpenter a couple of times. The last 8 years it has been only used as a sofa and storing in the hollow. |
