Fort area to Colaba

Hello there all you travel guru's

I'm off to India for the first time in a few weeks - first stop Mumbai! Very exciting!

This may sound a bit daft, but I'm wondering if it's walkable from the Benazeer Hotel in the Fort area to Colaba? Do you reckon the Benazeer is in a good location for a first timer?

I've done as much research as I can but I seem to be coming up with different answers everwhere I turn.

Thanks a million everyone!

Well the walk should take you approx 15-20odd min subject to the pace. Roughly 1.5 KM or so.

Benazeer Hotel is not a bad first experience in India provided you know what it means..., Colaba is just a couple of km from the hotel, a really nice walk.

Wish I was there (in Benazeer and in Mumbai )

You can find lots of red buses going to Colaba from Fort.
Hopping into a taxi also is not a bad idea, as the distance is short, you pay by the meter, and the drivers don't haggle.

Most places in south Mumbai are walking distance from Fort, so you can easily walk down to Colaba, Churchgate, Marine Drive from you hotel. It is also the best way of exploring that part of the city. There' lots to see and do around that side depending on your intrests, so enjoy yourself.
