Ever stayed in Empire Royale in Mumbai?

Has anybody ever stay at:

EMPIRE ROYALE HOTEL
3rd Flr, Empire Building,
Above Mc Donald, Opp.CST Station,
Fort, Mumbai- 400 001

On the website it says it has just been renovated so it may not be too bad. On the other hand the word 'just' may be stretched.

There are no reviews for it yet on the IM hotel listing.

Any other suggestions for a decent hotel around INR 3,500 per night in South Mumbai?

I have seen the building from the outside and if you see the entrance you may not want to enter the building. It is a very old building and the place has been done up in recent times (during the last year) so it is almost new, so what they say is pretty much true. Don't know if the place is worth the price they are asking. There are other options nearby like the Residency Hotel (just opposite the Citibank office) for about Rs1750 or the YWCA International Center (at Colaba, just opposite the Museum) for about the same price for a double room (airconditioned with attached bath). Both these places are generally full so advance booking is very essential. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Sorry, not much help to you out here. Have not heard the name of the road either!!! Must be a small hotel in a small lane. If you have a telephone number I could give them a call to find out.

Cheers,
Aadil.

OK, that is in a different part of Colaba near Cuffe Parade, so not really near most of the other Colaba Hotels. I have not heard of this hotel. The President is a five star hotel of the Taj group of Hotels.

Cheers,
Aadil.

You could still cancel the booking with your agent and make fresh bookings over the internet if you wish. The Residency Hotel is a good choice for a nice place near the Fort area and it is close to the railway stations, touristy places and shopping areas too.

Cheers,
Aadil.
