Will be next to impossible to get any bookings last minute. Even booking now will be a problem.
Delivery? Err, browse the train forum here, specially the difference between e tickets and itickets. You can print out a ticket and be ready to go. Good luck.

You can't collect tickets anywhere now.
You can buy the tickets on-line, if you choose the E-ticket option you can then print the ticket on your home computer, if you use the I-ticket option you can have the tickets sent to an address in India (hotel or travel agent for example). But buying the ticket is the least of your problems, you've got as much chance of finding availability as you have of winning the lottery. But good luck. |

Not joking, this is one of the busiest tourist routes on one of the busiest days of the year.
I done a thread a few months ago to advise people to book early on this route as it's the same every year. Try the following way of finding trains and availability... Quote:

Place to stay will be almost as much a problem as it was getting train tickets!!! All prices are hiked up for the peak season and even lousy places demand exhorbitant sums, especially from foreigners. Best to book in advance but sometimes it would be better to check the place out first and then see if it is worth the price they ask for the place. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Aadil.
