How do I find out whats on in Bombay on a particular date, in fact 17th April?
I am having only one night in Bombay and would love to experience something like you mention here. What is Rhythm House in Colaba? Thanks very much. |

The daily newspapers (Times of India, Hindustan times, Midday) all carry current events everyday. Rhythm house in Kala Ghoda is music retail store. Most concert tickets are sold through them. |

one of the option is to get the TimeOut Mumbai magazine available on the streets newspaper vendors. its decent but again a few hits and misses...
the other option is look at local newspapers like DNA, TimesOfIndia and/or Midday..which is where i find usually but these have been a lot of times last minute or unreliable as well..some of the big name artists are also popular and they sell out before the day of the event ![]() check this website...though this is not complete or detailed as well ![]() Raga To Rock there is not a good central source as well for carnatic concert listings..the sabhas (organizations) that host these events are spread across the city in various suburbs..and its difficult to find them unless you call each one of them... also the season for carnatic is over sort of for the big names..though you will find one off.. events like these.. november, dec, jan and feb are the peak months for concerts here~ |

the concert in pics today~...
in the order from left to right...explanation of pics~
the nadaswaram was awesome..shown in the picture is the main nadaswaram player accompanied by a backup~ and then two tavil (drum) players on either side. the hyderabad sisters were allright~..had trouble with high notes and seemed a bit jerky!!. did they have a sore throat ? ganesh-kumaresh in a violin duet are such a joy to watch! fantastic as usual. they were accompanied well by mridangam (on your left) and ghatam (clay pot) on your right. the venue is the auditorium below the nehru center (the cylinderical building).. |
