Mention of press conference coming up yes like LilBoy mentioned, although they mention they're not sure if it will happen:

http://www.idesitv.com/starnews.php (live stream).

Edit: Oh, now they say the press conference is going on as we speak, and they're trying to get into it.

There has now been an official declaration:

J.C. Dutt ( Director General NSG) has said that 3 terrorists were killed inside the hotel.

He still hasn't declared the operation cyclone over, they wouldn't until every room in the hotel has been searched and sanitised.

But no indicaitions of any terrorists still alive.

Yes, confusing, isn't it. Don't let it bug you personally, thanks for doing your bit on contributing news. It has been amazing to see people "take over shifts" so to speak, never having been called to, or coordinated or anything.

Well-done, IM'ers.

The director general goes on to explain how the commandos heroically fought and killed all the terrorists.

He also said that they have unfortunately lost their own people in the battle. Not sure how many, but it is gut wrenching.

There are still people in their hotel rooms, he says, still fearful to come out and they are trying to convince them it is now safe.

I don't blame those poor people still in their rooms. They have lived through intense gun battles and loud explosions.

Terrible.

I don't imagine myself being very eager to open the door (that you've so eagerly barricaded for the past two days with what little means you have) no, no matter what that person on the other side says

Christ, what a story it's been too.

I caught some very touching story of a woman and (I guess) her husband having been freed today, she was all in tears yet so powerful, and how the staff had helped her, and then the soldiers who'd rescued her and stuff, and how kind and understanding they'd all been and whatnot. And then the man came in to add that of course, fear is the right emotion in a situation like this, but it is not the right emotion to run our lives. And we will continue on our journey through India (or will continue to come here or whatever he said precisely).

Touching, of course, and indeed.

Dramatic pictures on Times Now.

The terrorist who was captured alive is the one who was caught on CCTV camera outside CST station area.

He has confessed to be a non Indian (from one of our neighboring countries), speaks fluent English.

He says he and his other mates were instructed to attack Mumbai and were given guns and other ammunitions.

Mumbai Mirror reports that he pleaded with authorities for his life. " I don't want to die, please put me on saline" he says.

The operation may be effectively over, the recriminations have only just begun.

Reports indicate the Indian agencies have strong proof of one of our neighboring countries being closely linked with these terrorist attacks.

Aye. It sounds like such a stupid and banal thing to say, but I think it's brought a few people together even just on this silly forum, even very new people, and of no matter what different backgrounds.

I'm not sure what that counts for, but it must count for something.

Reports just in says 1 commando lost his life fighting the terrorists this morning.

That makes it 3 in all. 2 lost their lives yesterday while fighting the terrorists in Nariman House and Trident/Oberoi hotels.

I am thinking of their families and feel awful.

Isn't it a little early for him to say anything, or was he captured earlier? Even within two days I'm a little surprised whatever he does have to say would be made public, unless it suits the public agenda.

Hmm... be careful what you're told now. I'm not saying it can't be true btw. The b*tch of the matter is you never know what you're told. Again, it just strikes me as a little soon either way. As many other reports and analyses have struck me over the past days. And as they usually do.

I would have felt the same mate, except for the unusually harsh and open statments indicting this particular neighboring country by our Defence and Prime Minister.

There is no smoke without fire.
