Times Now is showing a lot of troop movement into the Taj. Ticker says NSG attempts to open back gates. Calling it Operation Cyclone.

MSNBC here reporting that:

--the Indian navy had intelligence 2 weeks ago that an infiltration by sea would occur. the ship the terrorists used was a hijacked vessel.

--that the Mumbai police were totally ill-prepared for this, that their bullet-proof vests were not really bullet-proof.

--that a satellite phone was found and calls were traced from Pakistani ISI to a Kashmir separatist group

--an American man and his 13 year old daughter among those killed at Cafe Leopold

I am puzzled that Star News is refraining from showing live pictures of Taj but it seems others are not.

DG of NSG is being quoted saying that operation would end at Taj tonight. Amen to that.

Spiral: Judecg is in Bombay, in Bandra. She has watched all TV channels for the past 48 hours all day to keep us updated. An amazing job. Some of us do not have TV, and it is hard to get updates through internet sites. Even if I had TV I woudl probably prefer Jude's and others updates here, I can't stand the sensational tone of the reporters and the music scores they use under the footage, let alone the "specialists and analysts" speculating and blaming all the time.

I have been so obsessed by following the news, and wanting this to be over, that I did not really gave thought to the fellow Bombay IM'ers that did not sign in lately. I hope they are all save and secure! And that we here something from them soon!

Aaj Tak has also ceased live broadcast from Taj.

I find this a bad statement. No police force in any city can be prepared for such an attack. And no standard bulletproof vest is strong enough to stop AK armoured piercing ammunition.

Spike when I read that particular comment even I thought this was not a job for police!

And even Times Now is only showing a still picture of Taj.

DG NSG quoted on Times Now- Terrorists are changing their positions so we will also change tactics.
